Welcome
The Lower Merion Township Scholarship Fund is a community effort to provide scholarship aid for graduates of the Lower Merion School District. It was started in 1965 helping eleven students and has continued though 2009 providing over 3400 grants to help students achieve their educational goals. In 2009, there were a total of 120 new and renewal grants totaling $110,000.
Award recipients are graduates of Harriton and Lower Merion High Schools who have been resident students for four years, who attend any college or vocational school full time, and have documented financial need.
A Board of Governors administers the fund and grants are based solely on financial need determined by an independent financial aid consultant.
Fundraising is a community effort and is ongoing. Students can submit applicants for grants between November and February 15th. The recipients are notified in May. |
